Portland Neighborhoods Framed
Irvington is at the top of the list for one of the most charmingly historic walks in Portland–especially in spring bloom–replete with top-notch coffee shops, chocolate ateliers, indie shops, and a surprising roadside butterfly garden.
This diverse 5-mile walk with an optional trek from westside to eastside across the Broadway Bridge and along popular NE Broadway takes you into a charming enclave of historic homes. I particularly love this walk in spring when the well-manicured gardens are putting on a show, but it’s beautiful all seasons of the year.
Here’s our walking map. Yellow lines indicate boundary streets of the neighborhood. (Three route options, plus markers for historic homes, are shown on the online version of this map.)
